Resumen
is monograph is the result of a documentary research that focuses on the relationship between the concepts of Environmental Education (EE) and Sustainable Development (SD), since there is little conceptual clarity, which makes it difficult to implement a true EE that results in reflective and critical subjects in front of the actions that affect the environment, understood as a dynamic and complex system, which prevents there being harmony between man and nature. Taking into account that national and international regulations refer to EE as a fundamental tool to achieve SD, understood as the one that favors economic growth, quality of life and social welfare, without compromising resources and the environment. which are entitled to future generations. When analyzing texts and interviews with experts, it is concluded that the concept is in crisis, and therefore today we talk about theories that guide new relationships with the planet. Given the findings, an EE is proposed based on the principles of Sustainability, where ancestral knowledge manages to rescue and reevaluate the values that man forgot in his desire to dominate.
