Resumen
The radio program presents a conversation with Jorge Campas, a prominent leader in the representation of Afro-descendant communities and their participation in public policy. The advances and challenges of the Afro community in Colombia are discussed, particularly with regard to Law 70, which protects the social, economic, political and cultural rights of Afro-descendants. Despite the 20 years of existence of this law, only three chapters have been regulated, and participation in the institutions remains limited. Campas points out that the government has not complied with the regulations on the remaining articles, and Afro communities continue to face challenges, such as violence and the exploitation of natural resources. The creation of the National Afro Association (ANA-AFRO) stands out as a new space for dialogue to take up the issues of participation and defense of Afro-descendant rights, especially in the face of threats such as mining and the lack of inclusive policies in cities.
