La imagen contiene una noticia acerca de la: "Educación Pública". El 28 de julio último por la mañana, el director de la escuela lancasteriana de esta capital, Juan de Dios Haro, dió al público un certamen ó examen jeneral de las materias que enseña á 150 niños que actualmente hai en la escuela de su cargo. Ellos manifestaron el aprovechamiento que tienen en la lectura, escritura, aristmetica i principios de dibujo. Son notables los progresoos de los niños especialmente en la escritura, en la que aprenden una bella forma de letra i en poco tiempo.
El maestro manifestó tambien los progresos de sus discípulos en las clases novena i décima, añadidas á la escuela á propuesta suya i como por via de ensayo. S.E. el vicepresidente, el secretario del interior, el intencente del departamento i otras personas notables que concurrieron al examen, quedaron satisfechas del aprovechamiento de los niños i del ciudado que pone el director en su educacion. On the morning of July 28, the director of the Lancastrian school of this capital, Juan de Dios Haro, gave the public a general contest or examination of the subjects he teaches to 150 children who are currently in the school under his charge. They expressed the use they have in reading, writing, arithmetic and drawing principles. The children's progress is notable, especially in writing, in which they learn a beautiful form of the letter i in a short time.
The teacher also showed the progress of his disciples in the ninth and tenth classes, added to the school at his proposal and as if by means of a trial.
