Este artículo abarca el periodo comprendido entre 1990 y 2010, cuando lasacciones de grupos armados, en la parte alta de San Cristóbal, fueron másevidentes y tuvieron el objetivo de mantener el control territorial, principalmentesobre las vías de comunicación con otros municipios. Aquí se destacanelementos que posibilitan la comprensión del contexto actual del territorioobservado, para lo cual se hace un esbozo de la historia de la localidady se desarrollan tres puntos clave en los que incidieron los grupos armados:configuración del espacio, relaciones sociales y participación política.
This article considers the period understood between 1990 and 2010, when the actions of armed groups in the high ground of San Cristóbal were clearer in order to keep territorial control, especially over the routes of communication with other municipalities. Here, elements that make possible the comprehension of the current context of the observed territory stand out, for which a sketch of the history of the locality was made, and three key points in which the armed groups had an impact were developed: the configuration of the space, the social relations and the political participation
