The Colonial Situation: Complicities and Distinctions from the Surrealist Image

| dc.description | In this work, taking as baseline the thought of Aimé Césaire and Franz Fanon —keeping in mind the closeness of the Negritude movement with surrealism—, we propose to approach the modernity/coloniality problem, appealing to the denominated surrealist image of beauty. In the first part the colonial situation is approached, in the second the colonial situation from the logic of surrealist image, and in the third the possibility of a decolonial universal or pluriversal is raised. In general terms, exploring the existent link between the “surrealist image” and the colonial structure of modernity —that generates the denominated colonial situation—, we aspire to approach what could be a decolonial aesthetic that, as general problem, will be tackled in later works. | en-US |
| dc.description | En este trabajo, basándonos en el pensamiento de Aimé Césaire y Franz Fanon —teniendo en cuenta la cercanía del movimiento de la Negritud con el surrealismo—, nos proponemos abordar el problema de la modernidad/colonialidad, recurriendo a la denominada imagen surrealista de la belleza. En la primera parte se aborda la situación colonial, en la segunda la situación colonial desde la lógica de la imagen surrealista, y en la tercera se plantea la posibilidad de un universal decolonial o pluriversal. En términos generales, al explorar la vinculación existente entre la “imagen surrealista” y la estructura colonial de la modernidad —que genera la denominada situación colonial—, aspiramos aproximarnos a lo que podría ser una estética decolonial que, como problema general, será abordado en trabajos posteriores. | es-ES |
