Abstract

This document provides a brief description of the graduation project called "design of a machine for handling steel plates and profiles", the project had its origin in a real situation of the metalworking sector company located in Bogota where currently inappropriate equipment is used to perform daily tasks that generate unsafe conditions, high production costs and delays in productivity. As you advance in reading this article, you can appreciate why so simple as a crane capacity of 5 tons team can move the operation or use of a telescopic crane of 25 tons of capacity based on the specific task to perform. At the end of the article, the reader will understand that the proposal on the project solution will provide an important option to reduce operational costs, minimize obviously unsafe conditions and increase the competitiveness of the company involved.
