The image contains news about the Circular issued on August 25, 1845 by the Secretariat of State and Internal Improvements of the Republic of New Granada. Addressed to the Governor of the province of Bogotá, this circular emphasizes the need to collect accurate data on the state of industry and agriculture in the Republic. The circular highlights the decline of these sectors, attributing it to popular unrest and the short existence of the nation. The undersecretary highlights the importance of gathering detailed statistical information to present to the next Legislature, with the goal of identifying and addressing obstacles that impede economic development, such as the lack of adequate infrastructure. Furthermore, governors are instructed to commission competent and patriotic persons to collect this data.
