Abstract

Residual biomass is a renewable resource with the ability to provide energy solutions at a local and regional level. In fact, this resource is a very good alternative to provide electricity in rural or non-interconnected areas, where the livestock and agricultural sectors are the most representative. This book presents a review focused on the study of the biochemical process of anaerobic digestion (AD), its mathematical modeling and its respective computational implementation, including the development of a software tool that facilitates its calculation and application.
