Resumen
This image contains news about the general administrator of the Treasury of the province who has received an order to send, through the mail, the sum of 732 reales to the general administration of the Treasury. This amount, requested in the letter of May 8, number 45, is intended to cover the archbishop's salary corresponding to the 10 months due until May 31. The governor has expressed his regret at having to give this order, highlighting the need to pay what is owed to the archbishop, who could stop obeying the provisions of the Senate of the Nation due to non-payment. The provincial coffers are in a regrettable state of scarcity, and the situation of employees is even worse, since they only receive a quarter of their salary every three or four months.
The recent epidemics that have affected the province have reduced the influx to the market, causing an extreme shortage of provisions. These diseases have generated additional expenses, further depleting the limited resources available. Employees are discouraged, facing a desperate situation as they are owed salaries and have long received only a fraction of their pay. The province has not received the aid promised by Congress in 1851, and local revenues are not sufficient to cover even one-fifth of the necessary expenses. News published in the newspaper El Constitución, No. 373, July 31, 1852.
