Abstract

In this edition of Crewmates, participants Ana María, Daniel, Nicolás, and Mario embark on a space journey that leads them to reflect on the possibility of colonizing the exoplanet Kepler 452b, a world similar to Earth. This premise sparks a debate about the implications of such an undertaking, including resource management, human adaptation to new environments, and equity in the selection of colonists. The conversation moves on to the functioning of democracy in Colombia, explaining its branches of power (executive, legislative, and judicial) and the role of their representatives. The program also presents ideas from young people on how to improve Medellín and Bogotá if they were mayors, covering topics such as education, the environment, and security. A special guest, Francisco, a mayoral candidate, shares his vision of politics as a tool for social transformation and the importance of citizen participation, especially among young people, demystifying politics and encouraging informed voting. The broadcast concludes with a call to action for citizens to actively engage in improving their cities, rejecting vote buying and promoting reading as a tool to discern the truth in political proposals.
