“El olor de las estrellas” una adaptación de la novela D(olores)

Abstract

D(olores) is a fictional novel written as part of the author's personal work at the TYMH Seminary. Since joining the program in 2020, she began research based on the memoirs of her grandmother, Clara, who is also the play's main character. The story uses smells as a common thread to represent characters, places, and emotions throughout Clara's life. In 2023, after completing the final version of the novel, the idea arose to adapt it for the stage, specifically in monologue format, integrating the author's personal experience and her theatrical vision. This document brings together the novel D(olores), a presentation presented at the 2023 ASAB Faculty of Arts Seminary Meeting, the monologue's playwriting journal, and an analysis of the process from aspects such as theme, fiction, and theatricality.
