Resumen
This thesis document, whose main objective was to strengthen the scientific competencies of 11th-grade students in the area of chemistry, with a view to improving their performance on the ICFES Saber 11 tests and facilitating their entry into higher education. To this end, innovative pedagogical strategies were designed and implemented at the Instituto Bolivariano EDISEÑOS, including virtual classes, experiments, collaborative work, scientific modeling, and formative assessment. These activities focused on developing key skills such as the comprehensive use of scientific knowledge, explanation of phenomena, and inquiry. The results showed a significant improvement in student performance, increasing their scores by up to 55% compared to the initial assessment. Furthermore, a greater interest in chemistry was sparked, relating its teaching to real-life, everyday contexts. The work concludes that the use of active and contextualized methodologies is essential to effectively prepare students for these tests and foster meaningful learning.
