La diabetes una enfermedad que cobra millones de vida al año, la que más causa muertes, ceguera y amputaciones en el mundo es hoy en día un campo de acción y de investigación para la ciencia y la tecnología. En este artículo se exponen los resultados de como la ingeniería contribuye a la prevención y cuidado de los paciente con diabetes, desde sensores y equipo sofisticados al alcance de todos para una medida precisa de datos biológicos hasta la forma en que se transmiten, procesan y usan estos para prolongar y hasta salvar la vida de un paciente.
Diabetes a disease that claims millions of lives each year, which cause more deaths, blindness and amputations in the world is today a field of action and research for science and technology. This article describes the results as engineering contributes to the prevention and care of the patient with diabetes, from sensors and sophisticated equipment available to everyone for accurate measurement of biological data to the way it is transmitted, processed and used exposed these to prolong and even save the life of a patient.
