Resumen
This image contains news about the commission commissioned by the board of doctors of the capital, which was caused by the laudable desire to quickly help the inhabitants of this city and a large part of Colombia during the current epidemic, it was decided that, After detailed reflection, the assembled doctors examined the issue with interest. They showed their willingness to collaborate in the conservation of citizens and based their concepts on epidemic morbidity. The doctors concluded that it is unnecessary to repeat here the detailed speeches and particular observations of each member. Instead, they will limit themselves to offering a simple explanation of the origin, character, termination and curative plan of the prevailing epidemic. As for the cause of the epidemic, although the most insightful researchers cannot precisely determine the essence of the fluid that affects us, it is suggested that the epidemic condition has its origin in an olfactory fluid of an acrid and particular nature. This fluid could be a sulfuric gas, a muriatic detachment, an asotic fluid, or a combination of these. The first organs affected by the epidemic are those of respiration, and the current symptoms differ from the morbidities experienced in other times. This indicates that the cause is a subtle and volatile substance in the atmosphere, of a particular and little-known character, which causes prolonged short-lived fever and catarrh. It is evident, even without medical principles, that this substance in the atmosphere is responsible for the symptoms observed at the beginning, during and as the current epidemic declines.
