The image contains a news item in which the readers of El Conservador are notified that the line that goes from the city of Bogotá to Medellín is beginning to be extended, as well as some documents related to the news. A reply from the president to the builder of the Colombian telegraph is shown, congratulating him for his success and efforts. Finally, they talk about a false news of the breaking of the wire by ill-intentioned people, and they ask the politicians to help to conserve because it is important the advances of the century. La imagen contiene una noticia en la que a los lectores de El Conservador, se les notifica que la línea que va desde la ciudad de Bogotá hasta Medellín se empieza a extender, así mismo, muestran unos documentos relacionados con la noticia. Se muestra una respuesta del presidente al constructor del telégrafo colombiano, mostrando felicitaciones por su éxito y esfuerzos. Finalmente, se habla de una noticia falsa de la ruptura del alambre por parte de personas mal intencionadas, y se ruega a los políticos a que ayuden a conservar porque es importante los avances del siglo.
