Resumen
In this episode of Voices and Regions of the program of the Directorate for Citizen Participation and Communal Action, Octavio Palacios Palacios, leader of the organization ACAVA (Association of Black Communities of Alto Baudó) of the Department of Chocó, is interviewed. Palacios explains the objective and mission of the organization, which focuses on the defense of the ancestral territory of black communities and its conservation. Additionally, it discusses the progress and challenges of the land titling process in the region and the coexistence between Afro-descendant and indigenous communities. It also addresses the situation of violence, displacement and undue pressures that citizens face in elections, such as threats related to subsidies or jobs. The leader expresses his concern about the lack of infrastructure in Chocó, especially in relation to communication routes, and the urgent need for sustainable projects that support local communities.
