Diseño y creación de un modelo conceptual para la construcción de una infraestructura de datos espaciales para el Departamento del Meta

Abstract

Geographic Information (GI) is relevant for development, therefore an accelerated growth in demand has been generated. However, the technology for management spatial information, has not been growth in the organizations that produce and use it. Focused to the aim of design and implement a Spatial Data Infrastructure for the Meta Department (IDEM), which responds to the identified needs, is a diagnosis determined by a survey of 19 department entities, which determined GI production, availability and access difficulties. For this reason, a pilot of the technological platform was implemented open source. Likewise, identifying the organizations are interested in participating in the construction of an SDI at the departmental level, an institutional strengthening strategy was proposed as an alternative to solve the limitations in GI management.
