The image contains news about dialogues between the Secretary of State and Foreign Affairs, he presented Colonel José A. Torres to the Vice President in charge of the executive as Chargé d'Affaires of the government of the Republic of Mexico, while he arrives at the capital Mr. Don Francisco Molinos del Campo, appointed Extraordinary Envoy and Minister Plenipotentiary of said Republic to reside in Colombia.
Mr. Torres expressed his deep pleasure at being introduced to the government of a Republic that is a friend and close ally of Mexico. He highlighted his desire for relations between both nations to be strengthened even further, despite the fact that there may be different governments in both countries, with the hope that the interests will be identified as if they belonged to a single people due to similarities in customs, religion and political principles. He also congratulated Colombia for its triumphs in its own territory and in Peru, considering them as belonging to Mexico.
Mr. Torres introduced Mr. Basadre as secretary of the Mexican legation in Colombia. The Vice President expressed his pleasure at the presence of a representative of a friendly and allied country, considering Colombia's triumphs as a shared triumph. He assured that the relations of friendship and alliance between both republics would be further consolidated, in response to the challenges of the Spanish government and in support of the cause of freedom in America.
