Resumen
In this episode of Voices and Regions, Daryl Ben Alexander Palacios Hinestroza, coordinator of the Youth Observatory in Quibdó, details the work and achievements of this initiative, which focuses on generating research on the reality of young people in the municipality in areas such as family, politics, social, cultural and individual. One of the observatory's main investigations was a psychosocial diagnosis of young people from Quibdos, which revealed worrying data about low political participation, disinterest in sexual and reproductive health services, and lack of trust in institutions. In addition, the observatory offers opportunities to young people through its website, which has been very well received, and works to strengthen youth organizations and promote public policies. Daryl also reflects on the challenges faced by young leaders in the region, such as violence and lack of institutional support, which limit their ability to exercise leadership. Finally, he shares his own career as a youth leader and social activist in Chocó.
