Resumen
The idea behind Light Traps is to generate, through drawing, pieces that invite the gaze of a viewer and that lead them to an observation exercise in which optical illusion, pareidolia and relationships between their psychological traces and the images that I propose can manifest. My main motivation for working is to reconsider the value of art contemplation. To create easily accessible pieces (images), which are not intelligible for those who do not have the complex compendium of codes that art has created and perpetuated. I believe that from contemplation, reflections and questions can arise in an observer whose gaze is trained or not. Additionally, this thesis aims to be a statement about drawing as a trap, this concept being understood from my work as a draftsman and the physical and psychological phenomena that I have found there. This project is developed entirely with drawings. Its dimensions are variable since it is a sample of dozens of drawings for which different agendas (sketchbooks) with papers of multiple characteristics were used as support. The only drawing tool is a black BIC pen.
