Resumen
The main objective of this article is to study the possible relationships between processes and schemes associated with mathematical modelling and the Mathematization of environmental phenomena and the elements linked to the generation of environmental awareness, based on an analysis carried out on products built by a group of students, who have studied the training space Mathematization of environmental problems, the curriculum project of Bachelor of Mathematics LEMA and a group of students of first semester, who, on the contrary, have not formally undergone a process of mathematical modeling; analysis based on a case study in qualitative research of an explanatory type, which showed an understanding of Mathematization, environmental awareness and the relationship between these two aspects. The analysis carried out on the products and interpretations of students who participated directly in the Mathematization of environmental phenomena allows us to manifest the importance of the use and management of schemes, activities and methods in Mathematics and Statistics in processes that allow us to understand in depth the environmental impacts in various situations that manifest themselves in our reality, as well as in decision-making and in the generation of environmental awareness in community. The work contributes to fostering spaces for the reflection of our actions as professors of Mathematics in the processes of generating environmental awareness from Mathematics as human activity.
