Resumen
The "Voces y Regiones" program addressed the issue of racism and discrimination in Colombia, focusing on the Afro-descendant community of San José de Saco, Atlántico. The interviewees, Manuel Jiménez and Fabián Salterín, highlighted the historical and structural discrimination they have faced, as well as the lack of representation in local institutions. They discussed efforts to strengthen the rights of Afro communities, such as the reform of Law 70 of 1993 and the struggle for collective land ownership. The conversation also covered challenges in accessing education, healthcare, and employment for Afro-Colombians, emphasizing the need for greater political participation. Finally, the program stressed the importance of continued community organization to demand rights and improve the quality of life for the Afro population in the country.
