Apoyo a la gestión sostenible del agua e implementación de la gestión de residuos en la empresa de acueducto y alcantarillado de Mosquera

Abstract

This work, carried out as an internship at the Water and Sewerage Company of Mosquera - EAMOS ESP, aimed to expand theoretical knowledge and gain practical experience in water management and sewage systems. It addressed comprehensive water management and environmental management, focusing on PSMV, PUEAA, the update of the stormwater network registry, and the implementation of the waste management system in the company. At firts we identified external problems (irresponsible water consumption and improper handling of discharges) and internal (lack of information and resources to update the network registry and absence of environmental waste management). These aspects could get worse in the long term, generating additional risks such as excessive and unnecessary water consumption and pollution. Furthermore, the absence of an updated registry of hydraulic connections could cause inefficiencies in structure maintenance, affecting the population. As a result, a database of the stormwater network registry (drains) was obtained, along with support for PUEAA and raising awareness among the population. Additionally, discharge monitoring was carried out, analyzing the current situation of the town. Finally, waste management was implemented, characterizing and quantifying the amounts generated for proper disposal. This work allowed for the application of skills acquired during academic training, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact and the protection of water resource in the municipality of Mosquera.
