Resumen
The text explores the relationship between art and decoration, and how these two categories intersect and merge in contemporary artistic creation. The tension between abstract painting and decoration is analyzed, as well as how artists such as Daniel Buren and John Armleder have worked at this intersection. The text also reflects on the nature of art and its relationship to reality, and how conventional categories of visual appreciation are blurred and problematic. The text highlights the importance of understanding contemporary artistic creation in its historical and cultural context, and how artistic strategies such as appropriation and quotation can be used to question and subvert traditional notions of art and taste.

El texto explora la relación entre el arte y la decoración, y cómo estas dos categorías se interceptan y se confunden en la creación artística contemporánea. Se analiza la tensión entre la pintura abstracta y la decoración, y cómo artistas como Daniel Buren y John Armleder han trabajado en esta intersección. El texto también reflexiona sobre la naturaleza del arte y su relación con la realidad, y cómo las categorías convencionales de apreciación visual son difusas y problemáticas. Se destaca la importancia de comprender la creación artística contemporánea en su contexto histórico y cultural, y cómo las estrategias artísticas como la apropiación y la cita pueden ser utilizadas para cuestionar y subvertir las nociones tradicionales de arte y gusto.
