Resumen
The program highlights the problems of the elderly in Providencia and Santa Catalina, exposed by Aminta Robinson. During the interview, she discusses how many elderly people on the island face abandonment and loneliness due to the work commitments of their families, which leads to a sedentary lifestyle that aggravates health problems such as reduced mobility, chronic diseases, obesity and diabetes.
Although there are initiatives by the mayor's office, such as occasional activities on Tuesdays to promote social interaction, these are not enough to meet their ongoing needs. Since its founding, Aminta Robinson works to provide support through donations that include wheelchairs, adult diapers and other essentials.
The program underscores Robinson's call to the community to strengthen care for the elderly, promoting actions such as accompanying them, providing them with affection, encouraging their mobility and guaranteeing adequate food. It also emphasizes the importance of citizen and governmental participation to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for this vulnerable group.
