Resumen
In this episode of Voces y Regiones, broadcast by the Ministry of the Interior and Francisco José de Caldas University through Laud Estereo 90.4 FM, the issue of mining exploitation in La Guajira is discussed. Special guest Cira Ortiz, a social leader, denounces the impact of mining in the region, particularly in the El Cerrejón territory. She explains how coal exploitation has caused forced displacement, ecological damage, destruction of aquifers, and harm to the local economy. Ortiz emphasizes the lack of fair compensation from the State and the indifference of local authorities, who prioritize the interests of multinational mining companies. The interview also highlights social discontent and the struggle of affected communities seeking justice and reparations for the damage suffered.
