Resumen
The object of study of this degree work is the development of spatial thinking abilities (STAs), such as: observation, description and explanation in students of grade 601 of the Maria Cano IED College, in the category of urban landscape. The first chapter of the research, the theoretical dimension starts conceptualizing the STAs from the bibliographic tracing, identifies the what and the what for the elements that allow to recognize those skills in the students and thus later achieve that they make conscious transfer to work at Developing, generating actions, capacities and dispositions in the exploration of knowledge related to their reality, in the development of their own skills and talents. This taking into account the categories of classification, relationship and comparison, between skills that were worked out, such as observation, description and explanation. This academic process aims to train individuals able to understand this information, to communicate it and apply it to their quality of life, specifically to their geographical space, the neighborhood. The second chapter called the methodological dimension of the research develops tools that are used in the verification and testing of STAs and thus answer the question how to develop some STA in sixth grade students from the concept of landscape? Here we explain the focus of the research work its qualitative nature, the problem-based learning strategy is applied, in accordance with the above, we develop instruments with which we seek to characterize spatial thinking skills, landscape concepts and evaluate the Possibilities of the pedagogical process posed with the students. These instruments are an exploratory workshop on spatial thinking skills, an exploratory questionnaire on landscape notions and field trips, for which a table of activities was constructed and developed according to those carried out in each place. Search and locate the activities prescribed in the format, routes that were manually traced in maps taken from Google Maps. The third chapter refers to field trips. The first around the temporary headquarters of the College Maria Cano. The second field exit is the students' neighborhood environment.
