Entre la Tradición y la Transformación: Imaginarios de Género en la Vida Escolar. El Caso del Colegio Santa Bárbara de Ciudad Bolívar

Abstract

The present work aims to identify which are the imaginaries that the students of higher grades of the Santa Bárbara College located in the town of Ciudad Bolivar possess in relation to what has been called "gender roles", so that possible to observe if the representation that is subjective about men and women operates in function of the representation of certain characteristics and behaviors that is assigned to sex biological one with which one is born, or if on the contrary said imaginary ones are in the process of transformation. The interest for the realization of this work arises due to the fact that in this context observes the use of violence by most men to confront various situations, the self-objectification of the majority of young women and the use of violence symbolic by both sexes as a form of communication.
