Abstract
In this paper an analysis of possible alternatives is done to improve power supply of the Faculty of Technology University Francisco José de Caldas. Among the alternatives proposed are user switching regulated unregulated voltage level change and non-conventional energy sources.
Initially the energy characterization of the Faculty through the development of load profiles is performed, and thus the average power consumption and maximum power defendant is established. With the energy characterization we proceed to evaluate each of the alternatives to technical and regulatory level, based on the laws and regulations stipulated by government agencies as CREG, UPME and Ministry of Mines and Energy
Subsequently, a cost-benefit study for alternatives that meet the technical and regulatory requirements, to finally choose the alternative that presents the greatest service both economic and profit is made.
Final mind a methodological guide with steps to run before the energy trader, changing the alternative that meets the parameters necessary to achieve an improvement in cost vs benefit is realized.
