Plan de prevención, control y mitigación de incendios forestales para el área de compensación biótica y restauración ecológica del Proyecto Hidroeléctrico el Quimbo (Huila)

Abstract

In the management of forest fire risk, it was carried out the “forestry fire prevention, control and mitigation plan”, which contains useful instrument for planning and shared action, whose main purpose is to reduce disaster risk for forest fires. The Plan contains useful tools such as thematic maps, prevention methods which include the natural and social component, like preventive silviculture, fire lookout tower, firebreak, radio spots and educational booklets; and finally, it proposes guidelines for the restoration of areas that have been affected by forest fires. The plan is made up as a waybill to watch out for identify, characterize and spatialise the risk landscape, assessing threats and vulnerabilities of the area under study, to understand the problems associated with the occurrence of forest fires in the area of reference and point actions for prevention, management, mitigation, adaptation, and recovery in the present and the future, under a scheme participant action, involving the community and local authorities in protecting a fragile ecosystem in danger of extinction.
