Resumen
This book presents a conceptual framework on the static postural stability of human beings, a topic that involves different disciplines and has different study niches. It contains a compendium of tools for the analysis of postural stability and brings together the classic methods of linear exploration in time and frequency, as well as the latest advances in the area with non-linear methods (entropy, information theory and clustering), which allows researchers and those interested in this field to know in a single writing all the techniques and concepts that they require when studying postural stability. In order to show a concrete application of the concepts and analysis techniques of postural stability and broaden the understanding of this topic, an application case is presented for a population group of people with unilateral transtibial amputation, indicating the form of obtain the data (description of the experiment), an analysis of the same with each of the methods collected and a description of the main findings found; This analysis makes it possible to understand postural stability and the precise and reliable measurements linked to stability, fundamental in the detection and prevention of diseases. It is therefore hoped that the results compiled in this book can be used by researchers and medical personnel in the study and evaluation of postural control, as well as in the development of rehabilitation programs for various groups of people, for example, those with amputations in their lower extremities.
