Abstract
The objective of this study was to characterize the safety risks to which the workers of the Hostal Fátima are affected, based on the perception of the worker and the observation of the evaluator present in the processes, activities, machinery, equipment and work environment. It is a descriptive cross-sectional study with a population of 23 workers, information was collected through the application of surveys that allowed the identification of safety risks through the application of the risk identification matrix and risk assessment, managing to characterize the factors of danger in the different activities that take place and that can cause accidents at the Fátima Hostel.
Subsequently, the analysis of the information collected was carried out using the methodology of the Colombian Technical Guide GTC 45 of 2012 and the risk assessment by the method of William Fine, to identify the source of the danger and the process in which the activities that it is recommended in the Hostel, and with the analysis strategies of prevention, reduction and prevention of the security risks of the Fatima Hostel are recommended.
The Hostel has 23 workers, 16 of them were surveyed, of whom 9 are women and 7 are men between the ages of 35 and 50; The personnel that is perceived as the most exposed to security conditions are: kitchen assistant, maintenance, general services and security, followed by biological danger.
Finally, the risk level of each activity carried out by the workers of the Fatima shelter is determined, which allows us to propose a close location of the control actions that they can implement in the shelter to eliminate, control and prevent security risks, analysis that allows opening the door for the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System focused on preventing and mitigating the occurrence of accidents and incidents and possible occupational diseases and binding on staff through a work contract to improve working conditions resulting from informality. Key words: danger, process, accident.
