Abstract
The present research describes the impact of teaching cognitive strategies for reading comprehension, using a Flipped Classroom model. A review of the literature was carried out that covered the topics on flipped classroom, reading comprehension from different perspectives and the cognitive learning strategies to be used were proposed. The strategies were worked through the implementation of a virtual environment in the Edmodo platform, in which different resources were arranged to teach them, which the students had to study beforehand before the face-to-face class. The process shows good results and it can be concluded that the flipped classroom provides valuable learning opportunities in the population in which the research was conducted.
