Abstract
The present research's general objective was aimed to identify the social imaginary about gender that 11th year high school boys and girls (from distric school/public school) built from Facebook. The theorical framework is focused from the categories of gender, social imaginary, youth, and Facebook social network. The research's methodology is framed in feminist research, relying on the nonparticipant on-line observation and semi-structured interview. A main category was identified and called "the other side", from which emerge the next three characteristics: love and control, power inequality, and sexualization. Hence, a marked tendency for super imposing a gender vision that puts man at the center of all things and places the male gaze as the most important overall is evident.
