Abstract
Taking into account the approaches and guidelines established by the José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden in the city of Bogotá, it is important to implement new strategies or to develop in depth those already existing based on improving the environmental situation that our city in general is experiencing. The main objective of the present work was to promote socio-environmental and socio-cultural awareness specifically in the children participating in the science club and scientific vacations programs of the Botanical Garden of Bogotá José Celestino Mutis (JBBJCM), from a transversal environmental education, in such a way an articulation is achieved between the orientation process and teaching-learning; and through a transdisciplinary approach, since transdisciplinarity is "one of the highest ideals of environmental education, in which environmental objectives can only be achieved by addressing issues across all areas and forming new associations" (Schrodinger, 1998). This proposal was developed through the implementation of pedagogical and didactic instruments, later socializations were made on problems and tools were provided for the decision making of the participants. At the end of this project, it was possible to contribute to the processes of training, construction of knowledge, appropriation of knowledge and development of scientific skills around environmental education and urban agriculture.
