Abstract
La presente investigación trata de cómo la telenovela Yo soy Betty la fea escrita por el guionista Fernando Gaitán y dirigida por Mario Rivera emitida en el año 1999 – 2001 en Colombia, incidió en la cultura popular colombiana. Analiza la historia de la telenovela colombiana, la historia y los personajes de Betty y realiza un estudio por medio de entrevistas a diversos habitantes de la ciudad de Bogotá que describen como la telenovela se convirtió en una manifestación popular interviniendo en sus espacios cotidianos durante su emisión y posteriores secuelas. Además, incluye el concepto que efectúan importantes teóricos, artistas y antropólogos sobre esta producción que alcanzó un guiness record como la telenovela más exitosa de todos los tiempos.
Abstract
The present investigation deals with how the soap opera Yo soy Betty la fea written by the screenwriter Fernando Gaitán and directed by Mario Rivera issued in the year 1999 - 2001 in Colombia, influenced the Colombian popular culture. Analyze the history of the soap opera Colombian, the history and characters of Betty and conduct a study through interviews with various inhabitants of the city of Bogotá that describe how the soap opera became a popular event intervening in its daily spaces during its broadcast and subsequent sequelae. In addition, it includes the concept that important theorists, artists and anthropologists perform on this production that reached a guinness record as the most successful soap opera of all time.
