Abstract

This research proposal is aimed at developing a qualitative treatment of the problem related to the notion of density of positive rational numbers, since authors such as Broitman et al. (2003) express in this regard that there is not in the research literature a variety of works that from different perspectives account for the teaching-learning process, for this reason, it has been selected to work under the principles of realistic mathematics education with the purpose to expose the mathematizations managed by eighth grade students when facing situations of order between fractions aimed at constructing the notion of density of positive rational numbers through the construction of an instrument (questionnaire) that can be applied prior to instruction , as a topic that can contribute to the framework of research work by carrying out an a priori analysis from the perspective (Zolkower, Bressan & Gallego, 2016).
