Resumen
Adult education in the national, regional and international context is the result of a process of understanding, where education goes beyond the first years of life and even adolescence. Thus, educating subjects in adulthood constitutes a significant challenge, taking into account the personal and social characteristics of the individual, as well as their work experience. For this reason, it is necessary to approach three key concepts to understand the importance of adult education. The first to know is to understand that the adult training process is not carried out under pedagogical practices, but rather, being conditioned by experience, it is andragogy that defines the operation of educational actions. The second aspect to take into account is that adult education is conceived as training throughout life and for life; Thus, the subject will be fully trained to develop in the personal, social and work context, and the third aspect to evaluate is education for work and human development, understanding this practice as the potentialization of the workforce, depending on of the productivity of the country's economic apparatus and competitiveness. By way of closing, conclusions are presented on how we approach each of these three aspects.
