Bogotá, Colombia” that is discussed in this document has as its starting point the current problems in mobility presented in the city. This document describes the methodology used for the project is exposed, starting with a traffic study conducted based on historical volumes of neighboring master stations to the intersection object of study and a traffic count volumes and speeds made during the peak hour. In addition to this, it has been made a modeling data in the software Vissim 5.3 , showing in detail the behavior of vehicles in the intersection, providing the features that should have the intersection considering that the design proposes a useful for 20 years. Accordingly and performing the relevant processes and calculations, the geometric design to improve the existing intersection is defined. Using the software AutoCad Civil 3D a model was generated with information obtained by the “Instituto de desarrollo urbano” IDU. The corridor of street 3 between careers 56 and 38, in the last years (2015 and 2016) according to the databases of the mobility secretariat, according to the accident reports, has had 170 traffic accidents, which as a consequence They have caused the deaths of two people and injuries to other 64. Within the corridor there are critical areas with high accident rates such as the north-western zone of roundabout on the 3rd Street with career 50, where approximately 47% of the accidents are concentrated. Corridor, while there are other risk points such as the return of the street 3 with career 39B, where the characteristics of the traffic operation, the state of the infrastructure, signage and urbanism, suggest immediate interventions; although not report accidents. To plan a solution it is made a traffic study which identifies the current way operations, within the traffic flow it is made a projection of them to establish the operation conditions which could take place in 20 years from now. As a solution it is proposed the construction of two overpasses which allow the left turns which are done now in the interjection, without stopping the vehicle flow on the south high way. A geometrical design, vertical alignment and horizontal alignment of the solution is provided, and finally is produced the design of signaling to guarantee the way operation. It seeks to propose a geometric design that will eliminate the signalized intersection based on traffic studies and conditions evidenced in the field, in order to improve the capacity and level of service of the intersection, to offer different twists and movements that are currently not permitted, reducing vehicle queues and delays by a geometry design in compliance with the current regulations for the design of urban roads (AASHTO 2004 - INVIAS 2008).
